The theme of the workshop is, “Embracing the 4th Industrial Revolution in Heavy Haul Railways”. The workshop will provide a platform for sharing experiences of the 4th Industrial Revolution in various aspects of the Railway Industry. Our motto for the workshop is “Asikhuleme”, Zulu for “Let’s have a conversation”. We have invited experts from across the railway industry to share their insights and stimulate the discussions. We hope that at the end of the workshop the heavy haul industry in South Africa and across the continent will have a common view of the implications of the 4th Industrial Revolution in their businesses and more importantly start to develop a common strategy to implement Industry 4.0. The success of this workshop will depend on the active participation of all workshop attendees. We strongly encourage participants to be actively involved in all the exciting sessions of the workshop. Contribute to the discussion through questions, comments, and own insights. Looking forward to a fruitful and engaging workshop.
